3. Tea Aromas
Flavoured or scented teas are denoted by the name of the flavouring and are most often made from standard grade black teas that are either layered with flowers or infused with crystals or oils. There are extreme differences in the resulting teas depending on the quality of the tea and flavouring technique used. Teas made using natural flavouring methods produce the best tasting teas. Most artificially flavoured teas will smell almost too good, but when brewed it will produce a tea that tastes more like perfume.

Here a few terms that are commonly used to describe the fragrances and aromas of teas:

Citrus notes:
.  Orangey
.  Lemony
.  Zesty

Spicy notes:
.  Aniseed
.  Nutmeg
.  Minty
.  Peppery
.  Licorice

Floral notes:
.  Flowery
.  Iris

Do you have any extra tea aroma descriptions that you would like to share? Email me and we may post them in our next newsletter.

4. How to Have a Relaxing Tea Experience
To begin a relaxing tea experience, think along the lines of having aromatherapy session with your inner self. Begin by lighting some non-fragranced candles around you to avoid the mixture of the smell of fragranced candles with your fresh brew of your favourite tea. Select some relaxing tunes such as Jazz or Classical to fill the air while you brew your beverage.

Choose an area of your house - or apartment that will be spacious and private. Of course, comfy chairs are a must and should be set around a centrally located table where you can place your tea and tea snacks. If you want to it to be extra special, treat yourself to some seasonal flowers to emphasize your tea table.

Now you can enjoy. Put your feet up, indulge in the atmosphere you’ve set up, grab a book to read, write in your daily journal, or simply cherish this special moment to yourself.

5. This Month’s Featured Teas

Indian Jasmine Tea
Ah, the Champagne of teas gently infused with exotic jasmine. To create this fine blend, tea leaves are smothered in jasmine blossoms, producing a deliciously exotic aroma. (100 grams/3.5 ounces)

Chinese Organic Jasmine Tea
A unique barrel-rolling process carefully prepares organic Jasmine Tea. Organic green tea and Jasmine flower petals are separated in a wooden barrel by a grate and rolled periodically to ensure that the scent of the Jasmine flower is infused into the organic green tea. The flower and tea never actually touch, yet this product delivers a flavourful cup of green tea featuring a soothing aroma of Jasmine. Chinese Organic Jasmine is truly a mellow cup of tea. (24 tea bags- 48g/1.68oz)

6. Entertain with Tea
There are many occasions where tea accompanies entertainment.

We all have friends that we have to take out for lunch. Why not invite them to your home for tea on a beautiful summer day? You can prepare dainties, tea sandwiches, and serve your favourite tea in your own back yard.

Showers for babies and bridals are also ideal as well as birthday parties, family reunions, and retirements. These are perfect occasions to serve tea and other goodies. The food should be prepared before your guests arrive, and is either presented buffet style, or by passing plates of goodies at the table. The only thing you need to serve is the tea itself, leaving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy your guests. It can be a very formal affair as you'll find at some of the more elegant hotels, or it can be as casual as a pot of tea and some cookies.

One of the many favourite occasions is to have a tea to bring together family members on a regular basis. Spending some tea-time with family members you haven't seen for a long time is always a joy, especially with elderly relatives. Young cousins arrive with tales about their husbands and children or latest boyfriends and we all leave knowing those family times together are cherishable moments.

TEA AND YOUR LIFETIME
Scientific research results indicate that daily consumption of green tea in sufficient amounts will help to prolong life by avoiding pre-mature death, particularly death caused by cancer.

TEA AND YOUR GENERAL HEALTH
According to Globe Trends Inc, it is fundamental to drink at least two pints of fluid a day to avoid dehydration. Drinking tea can make a valuable contribution to the body's fluid intake as it contains many vitamins and minerals. Tea also helps the body's digestive system; therefore it is an ideal drink after a heavy meal. But perhaps the best thing about tea is that it is a completely natural product - free from calories, colouring, preservatives, sugars, artificial flavourings or other additives.

TEA: BOTTLED OR FRESHLY BREWED?
The United States Tea Association has conducted a survey and found that 85 % of tea consumed in our country is iced. Though you may think grabbing that bottled tea from the cooler at your local mini-mart will offer benefit, be aware that in order to maintain clarity of the tea, processing has removed much of the natural disease preventative antioxidants. For the most beneficial healthy results, tea that is steeped in water that has reached boiling and then iced is the way to go.

10. Once Upon a Tea Time . . . Submit Your Fondest Tea Memory to Win Free Tea

Whether it's childhood memories of granny's kitchen, mom's healing hands or toasts to success, each month Tea 4 Free News - Teazine features favourite tea stories. We would love to hear yours. If we choose your story, we will send you a FREE carton of Darjeeling tea bags.

This featured Tea Story is from Erika Elizabeth Meyer:

My childhood memories are all signified by different teas, therefore I can taste my way back to my wonderful childhood. Visiting my aunt in Chicago we always had freshly brewed peppermint tea from the dried peppermint in her garden. When any of my siblings or I had tummy aches, Mama gave us a cup of chamomile with honey to sooth our bellies. My great grandmother's summers were always accompanied by some orange pekoe sun tea. When I was in high school, I woke up to a tall mug of hot green tea that started my morning off warm and with a smile. When I dated my English boyfriend later in high school, I was introduced to black tea with cream and sugar. Now that I'm in college, a state away from my family, I always make sure I have a plethora of teas that I know can always take me home.
